A Proud Milestone in Our Journey

At BridgeRoots UK, we believe that healthier communities are built not only through treatment and healthcare services, but also through prevention, education, empowerment, and meaningful community engagement.

We are therefore delighted to announce that BridgeRoots UK has formally endorsed the World Cancer Declaration 2025–2035, joining a global movement committed to reducing the burden of cancer through prevention, awareness, early action, equitable access, and people-centred approaches to health and wellbeing.

This endorsement marks an important milestone in our ongoing commitment to supporting individuals, families, and communities through accessible, inclusive, and holistic health initiatives.

Why This Matters

Cancer remains one of the world's most significant health challenges, affecting millions of individuals and families every year. While advances in diagnosis and treatment continue to improve outcomes, there is increasing recognition that prevention, lifestyle factors, awareness, and community-based action play a vital role in improving public health.

The World Cancer Declaration 2025–2035 provides a shared global vision for reducing the impact of cancer through collaborative action, education, prevention, and equitable access to support and care.

As a community-led organisation, BridgeRoots recognises that communities themselves have a powerful role to play in promoting healthier lifestyles, increasing awareness, supporting early action, and reducing health inequalities.

Our Whole Person Care Approach

At the heart of BridgeRoots lies our commitment to Whole Person Care.

We recognise that health is influenced by many interconnected factors, including:

  • Physical health

  • Emotional wellbeing

  • Social connection

  • Lifestyle choices

  • Cultural identity

  • Spiritual wellbeing

  • Community support

  • Environmental influences

Rather than viewing health through a single lens, our approach seeks to understand and support the whole person.

This philosophy aligns strongly with the principles of prevention, empowerment, resilience, and wellbeing that underpin both our work and the aspirations of the World Cancer Declaration.

Launching Our First Prevention Initiative

To mark this endorsement, BridgeRoots will launch its first cancer prevention awareness initiative focused on promoting healthy lifestyles and informed wellbeing choices through community education.

The programme, Ayurveda for Cancer Prevention Awareness, will be led by Dr Avta Singh and will explore practical themes including:

  • Healthy living and wellbeing

  • Nutrition and balanced lifestyles

  • Movement and daily routines

  • Stress management and emotional wellbeing

  • Community support and resilience

  • Traditional wisdom for healthier living

The initiative is designed to encourage awareness, education, and informed lifestyle choices that support long-term health and wellbeing.

It is important to note that the programme is intended for educational and awareness purposes and does not claim to diagnose, treat, prevent, or cure cancer.

Prevention Begins in Communities

Many of the most important health behaviours are shaped within communities. The choices we make around food, movement, sleep, stress, social connection, and wellbeing are influenced by the environments and support systems around us.

Through this initiative, BridgeRoots aims to create spaces where individuals can learn, ask questions, share experiences, and access practical information that helps them make informed decisions about their health.

We believe prevention is most effective when it is accessible, culturally relevant, community-driven, and empowering.

Looking Ahead

The endorsement of the World Cancer Declaration is only the beginning.

Over the coming years, BridgeRoots will continue to explore opportunities to support prevention, wellbeing, healthy ageing, mental health, community resilience, and health education through innovative community-led programmes and partnerships.

As we continue this journey, we invite practitioners, community leaders, volunteers, organisations, and members of the public to join us in creating healthier futures for all.

Together, we can move from awareness to action, from knowledge to empowerment, and from individual wellbeing to collective health.

A Shared Commitment

This endorsement reflects not only the values of BridgeRoots but also the dedication of our volunteers, facilitators, partners, community leaders, and members who continue to champion health, wellbeing, inclusion, and compassion every day.

We look forward to working together to strengthen prevention efforts, promote healthier lifestyles, and build resilient communities that thrive.

Prevention Through Awareness.

Health Through Whole Person Care.

Stronger Communities. Healthier Futures.
